The selection process for the Malakand Board Handball Inter-Board Team has been successfully completed. Open trials for the selection of the team were held at the Government High School Mian Banda ground. Handball players from high and higher secondary schools across the district participated in the trials.
The event was attended by the Board’s Director of Physical Education, Mukhtiar Khan, senior instructors Abdul Karim, Fareeq Gul, senior physical education teacher Abdul Wadood, instructor Naqeeb Sultan, and the General Secretary of the Board Employees Association, Yasir Arafat.The selection committee finalized a 12-member team through practical trials. Speaking to media representatives, Mukhtiar Khan, Director of Physical Education for Malakand Board, stated that this was the sixth game in the series of selections for the 2025 Inter-Board Sports Competitions, and the handball team was selected purely on merit.
He further highlighted the past achievements of Malakand Board’s teams, mentioning that they secured second place in Pakistan for basketball, were runners-up in hockey, badminton, and table tennis, and reached the finals in athletics.Mukhtiar Khan acknowledged the significant contributions of Malakand Board Chairman Muhammad Naseem Khan, Secretary Professor Ghulam Zahid Jan, and Deputy Controller Naeemullah in promoting sports activities. He emphasized their commitment to providing students with opportunities for such extracurricular activities.He also announced that trials for cricket, volleyball, and football teams will be conducted soon as part of the inter-board competitions.
