Beijing: Tianjin Modern Vocational Technology College (TMVTC) and MNS Agricultural University, Multan, have collaborated in a project to establish plant medicinal planting, testing and processing base in Luban Workshop, Pakistan.
Project Tianjin Pharmaceutical Darentang Co., Ltd. meant to support the cultivation and processing of traditional Chinese medicine in Multan.
According to CEN, the project was officially launched at the 11th Conference for Chinese Herbal Medicine-Based Cooperation held last week.
The project aims to combine Chinese TCM brands with foreign cultural exchange brands, combine innovation and engineering skills, and combine international trade of TCM with local technician training. This is a “three combination” professional education model to support TCM’s global expansion. This model attracted the attention of industry experts and pharmaceutical companies present at the conference.
The Pakistan Luban Workshop Project has selected and cultivated high quality sweet, comfrey and sista with high quality and high yield in Multan. Through large-scale cultivation, we can obtain high quality and affordable Chinese medicinal materials, thereby increasing local income.
At the same time, the cooperation project will facilitate the introduction of Chinese herbs to the international market and support health programs with Chinese characteristics.
To strengthen collaboration between projects, universities and research institutions, TMVTC recruited experts from the bio-pharmaceutical industry as mentors. Dr. Liang Yu, professor of pharmacology at Tsinghua University and one of our project mentors, said it is important to cultivate traditional Chinese herbs overseas for the global expansion of TCM. He said that guiding the implementation of the project through scientific research will increase the global impact of TCM and significantly promote green and sustainable development.
During the conference, TMVTC Party Secretary Kang Ning said that by creating a China-Pakistan cooperation model for the development of TCM and training local medical talent in traditional medicine, professional education will facilitate the international development of TCM and encourage standardization. Since its establishment in Pakistan in 2018, TMVTC has continuously promoted the development of projects in the country. Focusing on academic education and vocational training, the college has established two Luban workshops in Lahore and Multan with Pakistani partners.
