ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information Attaullah Tarar has strongly warned Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapura against marching on the federal capital, saying any such action would invite legal reaction. At a press conference in Islamabad, Tarar criticized Gandapur’s intentions to start a “revolution” against the central government. He said, “If the K-P Chief Minister plans to attack the federal government using state resources, the law will react swiftly. The revolution does not come with ministers, convoys of official vehicles and government employees.” The information minister stressed that Gandapur’s threats to march on Islamabad with state funds were unacceptable and warned that such actions would sabotage the country’s recent economic improvements. “They want to destabilize the country. If they want to revolutionize, let them do it in education and health in K-P,” he remarked. Tarar praises the Prime Minister’s visit to the UN Tarar also lauded Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to the United States for the UN General Assembly, which was internationally acclaimed. He highlighted how the Pakistani delegation boycotted the Israeli Prime Minister’s speech and set an example for other countries to follow. “During the Israeli prime minister’s speech, the hall was almost empty and it was our prime minister’s leadership that called for a strike,” he noted. Tarar further mentioned that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s support and called Sharif a “brother of the Palestinian people”. Economic progress and international recognition The Information Minister also shared positive news about Pakistan’s economic progress, saying that inflation has come down to 6.9% and the World Bank has praised Pakistan’s economic policies. “Even the Turkish president praised Pakistan’s improving economy at the UN,” Tarar added. He reiterated that the PTI’s attempts to destabilize the country were not in line with the economic improvements Pakistan had achieved. “The world now recognizes our economic policies and we will not allow anyone to derail this progress,” he declared. Notice for K-P CM Tarar also warned that any attempt by the K-P Chief Minister to launch a march on the federal government using public resources would be met with a stiff legal response. “A march with state funds will not bring about a revolution. If any such action takes place, the law will move,” he said, urging Gandapur to focus instead on improving services in his own province.
