ANURADHAPURA: Former Sri Lanka captain Lahiru Thirimanne was hospitalized after the car he was traveling in was involved in a serious head-on collision near Sri Lanka’s Anuradhapura city on Thursday morning.
The exact nature of Thirimann’s injury is not yet known, but he is currently in a stable condition at the University Hospital in Anuradhapura. At least one other passenger from the car Thirimanne was in is also being treated at the same hospital.
Thirimanne was probably on a pilgrimage when the accident occurred. The car basically crashed into a lorry traveling in the opposite direction.
