Like the rest of the country in Peshawar the capital of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa the crisis of electricity water and natural gas has made the people suffer but the debate between the ruling party and the opposition is not ending because of which there is a great anger among the citizens which they are expressing in the form of rallies every day but perhaps they are not having an effect on the ruling class and politicians or the elite.
In the same context yesterday
In Peshawar once again the angry citizens stormed the grid station of PESCO and once again the angry citizens stormed the Dilla Zak grid station of PESCO.
According to the spokesman of PESCO more than 800 protesters forcibly entered the grid station. The power supply was stopped from all the feeders. The protestors belong to Glozai, Muhammad Zai and Gul Bela feeders. According to the spokesperson the line losses at Glozai feeder are 91 percent, the line losses at Muhammad Zai feeder are 89 percent and the line losses at Gul Bela feeder are 75 percent. The spokesperson said load management is done on these feeders due to high line losses. Although Pesco is alleging that load shedding is being done due to line losses while the citizens complain that the company’s officers are involved in these line losses who colluded to reverse the schemes of power thieves. They are also taught tampering and other methods of theft in return for heavy bribes, the consequences of which are borne by the citizens who pay the bills.
On the other hand the four to five hour load shedding schedule issued by PESCO for the bill paying areas is not being implemented and ten to twelve hour load shedding continues in those areas as well. Because of this, the worst shortage of water has arisen while the WSSP has also started cutting people’s connections due to non-payment of bills but the citizens said they do not pay their bills because they and their children have to wander all day to get water. The power outages have become the norm in many areas due to which the consumers are very worried on the other hand the shortage of gas has caused the citizens due to which the stoves of the citizens have been shut down and household maintenance has become difficult so children and employees have started going to offices and schools without breakfast in the morning, while some rich people are forced to order food from hotels.
Power division officials said that due to water shortage in winter, the production of electricity from big plants like Tarbela and Mangla is less than usual. It leads to an increase in load shedding. In severe winter, the demand for gas from domestic consumers also increases. When the demand for gas increases, the availability of gas to the power plants also becomes difficult due to the shortage of gas it is unable to achieve full productivity.
This situation is not new for the people but it has been happening before and the rulers of the time have started comforting the people and they are not being told the solution to this problem and the situation is getting worse and worse for the solution of the above issue Special attention is required. If this situation remains, then a strong protest will start on behalf of the people. It should be remembered that at this time the political leadership is immersed in its own problems, so no party is raising its voice for the people in the true sense, due to which their basic problems are not being solved and the government is not facing any problem. Therefore, the government should keep in mind that the day the political parties started raising their voice for the three basic problems of the people, then from that day the problems would start to increase. Therefore the ruling party should start paying attention to their problems before such situations start.
