Nowshera: A severe outbreak of the deadly dengue virus has left hundreds of patients in critical condition in hospitals and at home across the district. However, the district government’s indifference and failure to take necessary actions in the affected areas are evident. Spiritual leader Pir Naeemullah has expressed deep concern, stating that both the provincial and district governments have treated them as if they were stepchildren. He highlighted that two individuals from their village council have already succumbed to the fatal virus.
Despite numerous requests made to the district administration, no mosquito control spraying has been conducted to protect the residents of Union Council Ganderi from dengue. Pir Naeemullah further emphasized that the entire village council is plagued by piles of garbage, foul odors, and conditions that contribute to the spread of infectious diseases.
He urged the Deputy Commissioner of Nowshera to take immediate notice of the deteriorating situation regarding dengue prevention efforts and the unsatisfactory sanitation conditions in Union Council Ganderi. Otherwise, the local population may be compelled to resort to protests to voice their grievances.
