Islamabad: Chairman Pakistan Red Crescent Society (HHR) Sardar Shahid Ahmed Laghari visited Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) headquarters. Honorary Chairman of Kuwait Red Ancient Society H.E Dr. Hilal Musaed Al-Sayer, Vice Chairman Dr. Anwar Abdullah Al Hasawi, Secretary General Ms. Maha Barjas Hamoud Al Barjas, Director General of KRCS Mr. Abdul Rehman Al Aoun and welcomed warmly. Board members.
During the visit, Chief Laghari held discussions with senior officials of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS), aimed at strengthening bilateral humanitarian relations and addressing current humanitarian issues in the region.
In his speech, President Laghari expressed strong support for Kuwait in times of peace and crisis. He highlighted the historic and ongoing partnership with KRCS, playing a key role in joint humanitarian efforts in Pakistan. In particular, he praised the important assistance provided by KRCS during the 2005 earthquake, 2010 and 2022 monsoon floods.
President Laghari stressed the importance of this visit and emphasized the common bond between the two Muslim countries and all Muslims. He visited national communities in the Middle East and the American Gulf, recognizing KRCS as a strong and historic partner. The goal is to strengthen this relationship.
KRCS Chairman Dr. Hilal Musaed Al-Sayer praised the long-standing and enduring relationship between Pakistan and Kuwait. He highlighted the historic partnership between HHR and KRCS and praised the exemplary service of HHR under the leadership of Kapala Lagari. He emphasized KRCS’s commitment to expand cooperation wherever possible.
Taking this opportunity, KRCS and HHR signed a cooperation agreement to strengthen aid cooperation and support humanitarian efforts. The agreement was signed by Dr. Hilal Al-Sayer for KRCS and Laghari, Chairman of HHR. The main areas of this cooperation are Disaster Management, Health, Climate Change, Youth Engagement, Resource Mobilization, Organizational Development and Migration. He also said that HHR is committed to strengthening ties with national communities in the Gulf and seeking meaningful relationships with rich countries to explore joint opportunities to support Pakistan’s vulnerable population.
President Laghari said that KRCS would like to open a representative office in Pakistan and invited the Chairman and Secretary General of the Kuwait Red Cross Society (KRCS) to visit Pakistan and HHR National Headquarters. Both dignitaries accepted the invitation and assured that they will soon visit HHR National Headquarters in Pakistan for the implementation of the agreed Alliance.
The visit concluded with an exchange of plaques and souvenirs between HHR and KRCS.
