WANA: A representative delegation of Tehsil chairmen and tribal elders from the merged districts met Dr. Amir Abdullah, the caretaker minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for merged districts affairs, industry, craft and technical education, on Friday in his office.
On this occasion the Minister discussed with them regarding the development process in the merged districts, public problems and possible cooperation for their solution.
Tehsil Chairman Said Badshah from Bajaur, Tehsil Chairman South Waziristan Lower Maulana Saleh Wazir, Tehsil Chairman North Waziristan Ahmed Said, Tehsil Chairman Upper Kuram Ihsan Ullah, Tehsil Chairman South Waziristan Upper Taj Malook and Tehsil Chairman Orakzai Moulana Tahir Orakzai are among the delegation were included.
During the meeting, the caretaker minister expressed his views on the recommendations of the chairmen of various merged districts, that the relevant authorities will be contacted for the purpose of including the consultation of local public representatives in the identification of new schemes under the risk project of the World Bank in the merged districts.
He said that the controversial committee formed in the previous federal government for the use of funds in the merged districts has been canceled by the federal government on the demand of the provincial government.
But now the funds received by these districts can be used in these areas by the province.
In which the opinions of local elected representatives will be included.
The caretaker minister said that he could not start new projects due to financial difficulties and the ban imposed by the Election Commission.
However, we are trying to make it possible to release the funds in an appropriate manner for the ongoing projects in the merged districts.
He said that thanks to our repeated efforts, the TMAs of the merged districts have received money to pay back salaries.
He assured that concerned development sector ministers and administrative secretaries will be asked to include the opinion of local body chairmen in the PC One of the new proposed projects in the merged districts.
On the question of solarization of mosques in the merged districts, the caretaker minister had this to say, at present, two solar energy projects are running in the merged districts, one of which is nearing completion and the initial work on the second is our effort.
He said, these projects can be executed with reasonable funds, so that people can start benefiting from their fruits soon.
The caretaker minister added that the money has been released for the Ghulnai road, on which the stopped work has become legitimate.
In this way, efforts are on to release funds to start work on important communication projects in Orakzai and Waziristan.
