The Advisor to Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa for Finance Muzzammil Aslam has said that Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is going to launch specialized training program for five hundred three 503 in-service nurses through Khyber Medical University (KMU) in collaboration with Chester University UK and Rs. 270 million will be spent on this international nursing training. These views were expressed by Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Advisor to CM for Finance Muzzammil Aslam while addressing the opening ceremony of International Nursing Training at Khyber Medical University here on Thursday.
Mr. Muzzammil Aslam said that the current program will train 503 nurses in seven different batches while each batch will have a five week training provided by the faculty of Chester University UK. The event was attended by Vice Chancellor Khyber Medical University Zia-ul- Haq, Secretary Higher Education Department Kamran Ahmad Afridi, Director General Health Services and a large number of nurses, students and MD CAT test toppers across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Mr. Muzzammil Aslam said that 323 billion rupees have been allocated for the health sector in the budget of the current fiscal year, which is 16 percent of the entire budget.Muzzammil Aslam further said that satellite centers of Peshawar Institute of Cardiology are being established across the province through which facilities will be provided to patients from remote areas at their doorsteps. Adviser on Finance said that Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government is thinking of adding life insurance in Health card plus under which financial support will be given to the bereaved family on the death of the house bread earner.
He said that the health card will be operated under biometric mechanism very soon and the biometric functionality will make the health card more efficient. He said that the health card is taken as a case study at the world level and doctors and health experts can use the card data for health research.
Also said that he congratulates Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government and Khyber Medical University for successfully conducting MDCAT test and said that students of government institutions, have secured 10 positions among the top 20, which is a testament to the excellent performance of government colleges.
