The construction of Khatak Banda Dam in Kohat and Chashma Akur Khel Dam in Karak by the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a welcome addition to the dams in Kohat Division and a new sign of development in the land of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. This will open new avenues for development and prosperity in the province. Khattakbanda Dam is under construction in Kohat district. With its completion, besides irrigating thousands of acres of barren land, the water level will also rise and the scarcity of drinking water will be overcome. Khattakbanda Dam will not only improve the lives of local people but also usher in a new era of prosperity in the region. The dam is 143 feet high and 360 feet long and is being constructed using modern RCCD technology. The total storage capacity of the dam is 8557 acre feet. The said project is being completed at a cost of Rs.1602.071 million which will irrigate 2200 acres of agricultural land and also ensure supply of clean drinking water to the local people. This important project is the priority project of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government according to the vision of PTI chief Imran Khan. The dam will be completed in 2025 and will become a valuable source of agriculture, employment and clean drinking water for the people. The construction of Khatak Banda Dam in Kohat is a practical reflection of the promise and slogan of the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Government, “Development, Prosperity and Peace”. This project will have a far-reaching impact on the development of Kohat and will surely lead to prosperity in the entire region.
