SWAT: Ambassador of the Republic of Korea to Islamabad, Park Kijun, paid a two-day visit to Swat Valley. He visited the historical and tourist destinations of the Swat Valley and met the administrative officials as well as the elders of the area.
“At the invitation of social activist Swat Sardar Waqar Shahzad, the Korean Ambassador also attended an “Iftar Party” at a local hotel in Saidu Sharif. Second Secretary Embassy of the Republic of Korea Jee Eun Soek, Commissioner Malakand Division Saqib Raza Aslam, Deputy Commissioner Swat Dr. Qasim Ali Khan, DPO Swat Shafiullah Gandapur, Chairman Swat Press Club Shirinzada, Deputy Commissioner Chitral Imran Khan on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Korean Ambassador Park Kijun said that Swat Valley is very popular in Korea due to its historical significance. He added that many ambassadors of the country have visited Swat Valley because Swat is a beautiful area and also has holy places.
He said I am very lucky to have visited Swat too and seen the sights here. I am very impressed by the culture here and feel at ease. He further said that this is my first visit to Swat as an ambassador and I have met the people here, adding that the people of Swat are very hospitable and kindhearted and I am leaving here with souvenirs,” he said.
Mr. Park said that the purpose of this visit was to find out in which sector we can restore people-to-people relations between Korea and Pakistan, especially in the field of tourism.
Speaking on the occasion, Advocate Sardar Waqar Shahzad said that his aim is to promote Swat tourism and bring ambassadors from different countries here to Swat to present a good image of our country by seeing beautiful historical places apart from our culture and law and order.
Malakand Division Commissioner Saqib Raza Aslam also thanked the Korean Ambassador and assured him of all kinds of support from the Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
