KOHAT: The Ramazan ul Mubarak District Night Football Challenge Cup Tournament 2024 started in cooperation with the District Administration Kohat under the direction of Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Adviser on Sports and Youth Affairs Fakhar Jahan and Director General Sports, concluded at Kohat Sports Complex.
32 best teams of the district participated in the Tournament. The final of the tournament was played between Rising Star Football Academy Kohat and Khattak Junior Gambat which was won by the latter by 5-4 through penalty shootouts.
A huge gathering of players and fans of Football participated and encouraged the best teams and players. Regional Sports Officer Kohat Sajid Afridi was the chief guest of the concluding ceremony in a colorful program besides giving away the Winner and Runner Up Trophies, also distributed individual cash prizes and shields.
The Winner Team was given a trophy and Rs.15000/- cash prize while the Runner Team was given a trophy and Rs.10000/- cash prize. Likewise, the Referee Panel was also given a Rs. 10000/-cash award.
Expressing on this occasion, the Regional Sports officer said that the provincial government is trying its level best to organize maximum sports events, as sports are necessary for a healthy and peaceful society, the creation of positive trends in the young generation, and the eradication of terrorism and extremism from society. He further said that sports are also a means of mental and physical nourishment of the youth adding that organizing maximum positive activities is the need of the hour.
