Karachi: Former Prime Minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi on Monday challenged the 26th Amendment in the Sindh High Court (SHC).
The veteran politician prayed the court for an order to stop the appointment of new judges in the high court.
Abbasi also asked the court to keep the panel working until the plea is resolved.
The former prime minister asked the court to declare the amendment invalid.
The federal government, the Sindh government, the Speaker of the Senate and the Speaker of the National Assembly responded to the request.
Earlier, the 26th Amendment was challenged in the Supreme Court by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and Jamaat-e-Islami (JI).
