Veteran actress Faiza Hassan has attributed the rise in toxicity within relationships to the joint family system. In a recent interview, Faiza spoke about the impact of living in joint families, stating that relationships in such environments are not just portrayed as toxic in dramas, but often become toxic in reality.
She expressed that, in her personal opinion, the joint family system is a product of South Asia, and it does not exist in Western countries. According to her, this system fosters acidity and conflict within relationships. Faiza emphasized that if everyone lived separately and peacefully, there would be no issues. Many relationships require a healthy distance, and living together often diminishes that space.
She further suggested that we all need to consider not staying so close to one another that it leads to mutual destruction.
