PESHAWAR: The joint efforts of the Pakistan Army, the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Anti-Drug Force and the anti-drug organization “Da Haq Awaz” are making great strides in tackling drug addiction and combating the drug menace in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
In Peshawar, ANF and Da Haq Awaz launched an emergency initiative to treat street drug addicts. During three months, in addition to medical care, addicts undergo comprehensive training, including physical exercise and psychological counseling.
Pakistan Army in collaboration with relevant institutions is actively working to eradicate drugs from Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
At the end of the treatment, a ceremony is held where the patients, accompanied by their families and authorities from the concerned institutions, express their gratitude. One patient commented, “I’m grateful to everyone who treated me,” stressing the importance of staying away from drugs and putting family first.
The doctor reflected on the challenge of reintegrating long-term addicts and expressed pride in their successful rehabilitation. CEO Da Haq Awaz echoed the sentiment, likening the lives transformed to blooming flowers reunited with their families.
The fight against drug addiction and human trafficking in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa is a collective effort characterized by compassion, dedication and tangible progress.
