LAHORE: Former foreign minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi has been convicted by the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) in seven cases related to the May 9 riots.
Police sources said that the PTI leader based his statements contradicted the evidence collected during the investigation.
They pointed out that Qureshi could not give a satisfactory answer about the May 9 incident.
Sources said Qureshi’s involvement in the incidents of arson and violence was confirmed by digital evidence.
The JIT interrogated Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Adiala jail and found him guilty in all seven cases.
The group visited the prison several times to record the ex-minister’s words.
As a result, the JIT filed a case in court.
