Al Hilal Brazilian attacking midfielder Neymar has reportedly warned his Brazilian compatriots at Real Madrid that they could be in trouble with their latest signing, French footballer Kylian Mbappe. The two players played together as teammates at French Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) in 136 matches, scoring a combined 54 goals between 2017 and 2023.
However, months after Mbappe, 25, joined former team-mate Cristiano Ronaldo at Real Madrid, Neymar has warned Brazilian footballers at the Spanish club against the “disastrous” Frenchman.
According to Goal , Neymar has warned fellow Brazilians Vinicius Junior, Rodrygo and Eder Militao that playing with the France international has been “disastrous” at times. Journalist Cyril Hanouna told the European Radio Network: “The Brazilians [at Real Madrid] are friends with Neymar. It’s always been a war between Neymar and Mbappe.
“Neymar sent the Brazilians a paper about Mbappe and told them it was a disaster, it was hell. Now, despite being at different clubs, the reportedly frosty relationship between the former PSG team-mates does not seem to have improved.
Mbappe previously described his relationship with Neymar as “hot and cold”, which has not changed since September 2022. With Neymar recovering from a serious knee injury he suffered with Al Hilal last year, Mbappe is expected to start for his beloved Spanish club in their Champions League title defense against Stuttgart on Tuesday.
