ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Atomic Energy Commission (PAEC) announced that the International Nathiagali Summer College (INSC) on Modern Physics and Applications will be inaugurated on June 24, 2024 in Islamabad.
Federal Minister Prof. Ahsan Iqbal is expected to be the chief guest at the inauguration ceremony. Following the inauguration of the INSC, a special session will be held this year to mark the 70th anniversary of CERN, the European Organization for Nuclear Research, in Pak-CERN cooperation. Pakistan is an associate member of CERN and has a good cooperation with CERN.
PAEC has held this lecture every year since 1976. The idea to establish the university came from Nobel laureate Professor Dr. Abdus came from Salam. to transfer and share scientific knowledge among the scientific community. INSC helps scientists share knowledge and learn from each other’s experiences, a unique opportunity in the third world.
Throughout the years, more than 1000 scientists and famous speakers including Nobel laureates from developed countries have studied at INSC and more than 11000 scientists from Research Institutes and Universities of Pakistan and more than 1000 from more than 75 developing countries share their knowledge with foreign scientists. INSC’s scientific activities aim to cover a wide range of topics at the frontier of physical sciences and allied sciences.
During the 49th INSC-2024, emerging technologies such as Quantum technology, artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning, semiconductor and layer technologies will be discussed in detail. The 49th INSC will continue till July 6, 2024 at Nathiagali.
