UPPER DIR : The six-day Inter-Departmental Sports Festival concluded at the Dir Sports Complex other day. District Sports Officer, Siddiqullah, organized the successful six-day tournament with the collaboration of the district administration and district sports office.
DC Irfan Ali addressed the closing ceremony said that over 400 players and 25 teams participated in the tournament, first time provided an opportunity for the government employees to refresh themselves and showcasing their talent. He added that similar tournaments will be organized for street children and under 13 childrens to encourage them.
MPA Yamin Khan said on the occasion that such positive activities increase the competitive spirit among youth.he said that we will provide oppertunities in future also for young talents. District Sports Officer Siddiqullah thanked the guests, players, and citizen for their huge participation in six days tournment at Dir sports complex in tournament included cricket, volleyball, tug of war , and badminton competitions.
The winners were Dir Levies in cricket, Police in Tug of war, TMA in badminton, and Rescue 1122 in volleyball. The ceremony was attended by MPA PK 11 Yamin Khan, DC Irfan Ali, DPO Waqar Ahmed, former federal minister Najmuddin Khan, and District Sports Officer Siddiqullah. final day DC Irfan Ali and DPO Waqar Ahmad distributed shields, trophies, and cash prizes among the winning team and players. Special shields were also awarded to the guests.
