Lahore: Increases in petroleum product prices have begun affecting train passengers, as the Railways Department has once again raised train fares.
The Railways Department has issued a notification regarding the increase in fares.
According to the notification, a one percent increase has been implemented in the fares of all classes including Economy, AC Standard, AC Business, and AC Parlor classes. Fares for Mail, Express, and Inter-city passenger trains have also been raised.
The notification from the Railways Department stated that the fare increase will apply to all trains operated under public-private partnerships as well. The new fare rates will be effective from Friday, July 19th.
