SWAT: The Islamic Research Institute (IRI), in collaboration with NECTA and UNODC, hosted the inaugural meeting of the Technical Working Group and Panel of Experts for its joint initiative, “Advancing Inclusive and Resilient Youth Communities through Preventing Violent Extremism.” Held at Allama Iqbal Auditorium, Faisal Masjid Campus, International Islamic University (IIU), the event featured prominent scholars and experts, including Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher. The initiative seeks to empower educators and engage youth in fostering peace, coexistence, and national integration through capacity-building programs and inclusive dialogue. Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher emphasized the importance of collaborative efforts in addressing the root causes of extremism and building resilient communities, particularly on educational campuses and social media platforms. The event marked a significant step toward equipping Pakistani youth as agents of harmony and constructive societal change.
At the conclusion of the event, Prof. Dr. Hassan Sher extended gratitude to Prof. Dr. Muhammad Zia ul Haq, Director General IRI, for inviting him as expert on the panel.
