ISLAMABAD: The Islamabad High Court on Thursday heard a petition challenging the arrest of PTI founder Imran Khan and his wife Bushra Bibi in the second Toshakhana donation reference.
The hearing was conducted by Justice Miangul Hasan Aurangzeb and Justice Arbab Muhammad Tahir while the charge sheet in the old Imran Khan reference was presented to the court.
During the proceedings, Judge Aurangzeb pointed out that the previous indictment was limited to Graff jewellery. He noted that the PTI founder should show good intentions by cooperating with the investigation. “NAB had earlier asked you for a set of jewelery but you did not provide it,” Justice Aurangzeb said.
“You’re not even offering the gifts now. You’re taking a very risky approach if you don’t show your good intentions.”
Justice Aurangzeb also questioned the PTI founder’s cooperation in the investigation and asked, “Is it true that you are not joining the investigation?”
In response to the petition, the Islamabad High Court issued a notice to the National Accountability Bureau (NAB) seeking a response by August 8.
