ISLAMABAD: Islamabad High Court (IHC) ordered the federal government to remove Sunni Ittehad Council Zartaj Gul’s name from the Exit Control List (ECL).
The IHC heard the petition to withdraw the name of Sunni Ittehad Council parliamentary leader Zartaj Gul from ECL and ordered the Assistant Attorney General to remove the name from the ECL and submit a report within a week.
Islamabad High Court Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri heard the case.
“You do not name the terrorists, the members of the assembly are coming to the court, Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri
“I will call the IG and ask if a political leader takes out a rally, then you put the name in the ECL,” the court remarked.
Justice Tariq Mehmood Jahangiri said no one came to him with any case of gangs or terrorists but MNA’s names being put in the ECL.
“The answer was submitted in case number 567 and 340. Today there was a miscellaneous application in Urgent, lawyer Osama Tariq.
There is no case of kidnapping for ransom, or gang rapists, all the members of the assembly are coming to the court.
Submit a report recalling names from ECL within a week, the court directed the Assistant Attorney General.
Zartaj Gul appeared in Islamabad High Court wherein the record of FIR submitted by the prosecution of names in two FIRs.
