Islamabad: Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi on Monday said that he was not aware of any agreement between the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and the organisation.
His words came at a time when the “conversation” between PTI and the organization has become a topic of conversation in the present day.
The talks gained momentum after PTI leader Shahriar Afridi, said that he will hold talks with the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and the Director General of Inter-Services Intelligence (DG ISI). Instead of talking to “rejected people” who come to Parliament through “Form 47”.
Afridi said PTI founder Imran Khan wanted to involve all stakeholders for a better country but did not get any response.
However, the PTI leader’s speech is not the first example of our party’s intention to extend its olive branch, as Khan himself has previously expressed his desire to engage in talks.
“For the last 19 months I have been saying that I am ready to talk […] I am a politician,” the former prime minister told reporters at Rawalpindi’s Adiala prison in January.
However, the ruling coalition comprising the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) and the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) condemned the PTI as making a “U-turn” in its policy citing its previous stance against negotiations. .
