In a tragic incident in the Indian state of Maharashtra, a cruel husband set his wife on fire after the birth of their third daughter, leading to her death from the severe burns.
According to Indian media reports, 32-year-old Kundalip Atam Kale allegedly poured petrol on his wife and set her ablaze on Thursday. A case has been registered by the woman’s sister, who claimed that the husband had been taunting his wife since the birth of their third daughter, insisting that he wanted a son instead. This led to frequent arguments between the couple.
The police stated that the argument escalated on Thursday night, culminating when the husband poured petrol on his wife and set her on fire. The woman ran outside, seeking help from bystanders, but by the time they arrived to assist her or put out the flames, she had suffered severe burns. She was rushed to the hospital but could not survive.
The police confirmed that the husband has been arrested for murder, and further investigations are underway.
