The girls residing in hotels are often considered to be free of all responsibilities. However, the girls you have themselves stayed and spent time in hostel know the realities better than others.
Although, life of the girls residing in hostel seems to be funny but it is tough life. They have to work more than the people staying at home and running the house.
The issues of accommodation, security, water, electricity, gas, maintenance are looked after by the management.
But cleaning the room, bed sheets, curtains, washing clothes, cleaning the refrigerator, taking care of summer and winter clothes, worrying about cooking daily meals, pressing clothes for commuting, cleaning shoes, and many other small tasks, along with managing our studies, research, is responsibility of the hostel girls.
The feelings of loneliness, homesickness, stress, anxiety and depression are in addition.
The hostel girls when go to sleep at night, they don’t hear their mother’s worried voice saying, “Go to sleep on time, go to university in the morning.”
If they don’t wake up on the alarm in the morning, they are deprived of waking up to their mother’s voice.
Nevertheless, all these things are enjoyable, they all seem to be the sweetness of a beautiful life.
The problem only arises when health is at stake.
A hostel girl identified as Bareera fell ill and was admitted to the hospital.
Reason: She had spent the whole day on only one morning breakfast. We all got scared when we heard that.
The eating and drinking routine of almost all hostel girls is also the same.
Another hostel girl Shabana said: “One day I woke up late, went to the university without breakfast, then left for my necessary work, while returning to the university at night, bought fries, ate them and fell asleep.
Romaisa informed: “I was so busy with research that I was not conscious of eating and drinking. Throughout the day, I would eat samosas or fries from the university canteen at some point in the afternoon. I came to my senses only when it was time to go to the doctor.”
The girls living in the hostel cannot compromise on their studies under any circumstances. The only thing they can compromise on is that they are very tired, so they sleep without cooking or eating. They need to be concerned about their health.
