DALLAS: Noted commentator Harsha Bogle has reacted to Gary Kirsten’s speech after the 2024 T20 World Cup, currently hosted by USA and West Indies, has been withdrawn.
Bogle took to social media platform ‘X’ to share his thoughts on the incident and highlighted its importance as a learning experience for Kirsten.
“When private conversations inside the dressing room are leaked, with some embellishments, it reveals insecurities,” Bhogle said.
“This will be a learning curve for the old Kirsten, but he is a good man and will do well to find the benefits of Pakistani education. When he is with India, he is surrounded by some tough people, as well as bad players. It makes a good combo,” he said .
According to local media reports, Kirsten openly spoke to the Pakistan team after it was pulled out of the 2024 T20 World Cup, expressing concern over the unpredictable health levels of the players.
The report stated that the team was lagging behind in terms of skills compared to international standards and lacked clarity in shot selection despite extensive match experience.
Kirsten also noted the lack of mutual support among the players was unlike anything he had experienced in his career, saying that there had been a lack of unity in the team since the beginning. He explained that players who show improvement in this area will earn their place in the squad, while those who do not perform will not be removed.
