Islamabad : Parliamentary officials from member nations of the Parliamentary Assembly of Economic Cooperation Organization (PAECO) have convened in the National Assembly of Pakistan for a two-day session, marking a noteworthy advancement in promoting regional collaboration and economic progress.
In the first session of the first day, participants explored the important topic of “Knowing the Function of Parliamentary Services.” In order to facilitate improved parliamentary liaison, Mr. Muhammad Anwar, Executive Director of PIPS, gave a thorough review of both legislative and non-legislative procedures.
During a knowledge-sharing workshop on “Ease of Doing Business and Need for Reforms in Legislation,” participants learned about global best practices and gained the ability to pinpoint problem areas and create sensible trade-related policies.
Mr. Nadeem Ahsan led a session on implementing best practices to improve economic cooperation among PAECO member nations as the day came to an end, highlighting legislative contributions within the organization’s mandate.
The workshop’s second day will carry on its in-depth examination of legislative issues. The creation, operation, and fortification of friendship groups and parliamentary forums will be the main areas of attention, with a focus on teamwork.
For the parliaments of PAECO’s member nations, this workshop marks a critical turning point in coordinating efforts for improved collaboration and common economic prosperity. The PAECO Secretariat and representatives from Azerbaijan, Kyrgyzstan, Tajikistan, Turkiye, Iran, and Pakistan demonstrated their dedication to regional development through parliamentary cooperation.
