Islamabad: The government has decided to set up a Safe City project in Dasu and Chilas to improve security for foreigners, including Chinese nationals. This initiative is aimed at improving surveillance and security by using advanced technology and artificial intelligence tools.
The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi, who said a comprehensive plan for the project was essential. Naqvi formed a special committee to prepare the plan and ordered to submit the final recommendation within 15 days.
“This project will be implemented according to modern requirements like in Islamabad and Lahore. The safe city initiative is not only about installing cameras, but also about creating a complex system equipped with modern technology.”
The Interior Minister said the project will provide comprehensive security and surveillance in the area. He stressed that the Islamabad Police fully supports this initiative. WAPDA has directed Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and Islamabad Police to jointly prepare the plan.
Naqvi formed a committee comprising IG Islamabad, RPO Hazara and representatives of WAPDA. The committee is expected to meet in 15 days to present a complete and comprehensive plan to set up the Safe City project in Chilas and Dasu.
