ISLAMABAD: PM Shehbaz Sharif said that government is determined to invest in modern skills and vocational education for the youth.
In his message on World Youth Skills Day, the Prime Minister said that Pakistan’s greatest strength is its talented youth and equipping them with modern skills is a must to secure the country’s future.
He emphasized that the government is equipping its youth with modern education, equal development opportunities and modern vocational training to compete with the world.
The prime minister reiterated the government’s decision to send 300,000 young people to China for vocational training in information technology and 1,000 for modern agriculture.
In this context, he said that the government gives priority to women and youth from remote and backward areas of the country.
The Prime Minister said that educational programs in the field of information technology are also continuing at the national level. “Millions of students are enhancing their skills in Pakistan and beyond after completing their education through these programs.”
He noted that with NAVTTC and its partner institutions, the government is ensuring provision of marketable skills and vocational training to thousands of youth. He said that the government will provide the youth with modern skills and vocational training for their development and dignified employment in all spheres of life.
