ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) Chairman Barrister Gohar Khan has said that some people are trying to sow discord and widen the rift between the PTI and the establishment. The PTI chief told Geo News’ ‘Capital Talk’ on Thursday that he and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur met Chief of Army Staff General Asim Munir in Peshawar recently. However, the PTI chairman claimed that the meeting was only aimed at maintaining law and order. He reiterated that some individuals are working to create a rift between the PTI and the establishment. Hours before Gohar appeared on the talk show, he said he had called up Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Munir, where he and the KP CM presented all the party’s issues and demands directly to the army. main. He described direct negotiations with the establishment as a positive step towards solving persistent problems. Both PTI founder Imran Khan and KP Chief Minister confirmed the meeting to the media. Meanwhile, during a talk show, reacting to the statement of Prime Minister Rana Sanaullah’s advisor, Barrister Gohar expressed disappointment and said, “We only demand a judicial commission and the release of the detainees.” Adviser to the Prime Minister on Political Affairs Sanaullah said the opposition’s demands and the proposed terms of reference (ToRs) were impractical and unnecessary. Sanaullah was referring to PTI’s demands presented before the negotiating committee, outlined in a three-page document, which demanded separate commissions of inquiry into the events of May 9, 2023 and November 24-27, 2024, as well as support for governments in implementing court orders when it came to their ” a political prisoner”.
