Mumbai: Former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir is likely to be the new head coach of the Indian cricket team, barring a tussle with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI).
The prospect of Gambhir’s expected role comes as current India head coach Rahul Dravid is out of the T20 World Cup 2020 and the former right-handed batsman is unlikely to reapply for the job.
Although there is no official confirmation, Gambhir seems to have applied for the post of head coach, which was submitted on 27 May.
