Parachinar: The fourth auxiliary convoy carrying the much needed humanitarian goods arrived at the District Administration on Friday. A column of 70 vehicles carrying flour, sugar, fruits, vegetables, medicines and other daily needs aimed at solving acute deficiency in the crisis of the affected area. The convoy vehicles are loaded with medicines, food and other daily needs focused on dealing with acute deficiency in the crisis of the affected area. The column of 70 vehicles also carried flour, sugar, fruits, vegetables and medicines. The security of convoy, other sources, was provided by the police and the district administration together with the availability of security forces. They also stated that today the distribution of compensation between the victims of the Kurram will also be launched. Development comes when more than 100 villages in the upper and lower part of the curram remain under siege for more than three and a half months. The region faced serious tension, especially after the attack on the convoy moving from Peshavar to Parachinar on 21 November 2024, which resulted in the death of 50 people, including women and children. Despite peace agreements, the main highway remains closed to Parachinar, which prevents the supplies of the necessary stocks such as food. With the growing challenges to supply humanitarian goods aimed at the renewal of local traders, a convoy was sent to the district, but became the target of terrorists, which resulted in at least eight dead, including security staff, drivers and civilians. The authorities also launched liquidation operations and set up camps for temporary displaced persons (TDP) in four village councils of the lower tribal district. Meanwhile, Khyber Pak Hyberkhwa Ihtisham Ali said that a shipment of medicines with medicines to be handed over to the DHQ MSD hospital was sent for Parachinar. A total of 1.5 tons of medicines were sent by a government helicopter, said the clerk and added that the drugs would be sent by air until land roads were restored.
