Islamabad: Former Azad Jammu and Kashmir (AJK) chief minister Sardar Tanwar Ilyas was arrested from his house on Sunday evening, a police spokesman said.
A First Information Report (FIR) was filed against Ilya at the capital’s Margalla police station on April 30 under sections 452, 448, 506-II, 148 and 149 of the Pakistan Penal Code (PPC), the spokesperson said.
According to The News, the FIR was filed on a complaint from the Prime Minister’s former security chief Col (former) Tepu Sultan, who owns a mall in Islamabad.
The police FIR stated that the former prime minister had tried to seize the head office and documents related to the mall using force and guns during the attack.
Sultan also presented Muhammad Ali, Anil Sultan, Rizwan and other unidentified people in the FIR.
According to the FIR, Ilyas, who was accompanied by an armed group of 20-25 men, entered the mall office by breaking the lock with the intention of keeping the house under control.
It is also alleged that the effort was thwarted by vigilant security personnel and Ilyas along with his colleagues threatened to kill Sardar Asirair Ilyas Khan and Sardar Dr. Rashid Ilyas Khan.
The FIR said the man physically assaulted the security guard and after receiving information about the incident, law enforcement officials reached the spot and the former prime minister shot Sultan, who escaped the bullet.
