An international company got contract of building road in a mountainous area of Pakistan.
The engineers started preparing map for construction of the road.
A survey was conducted for preparation of the map.
However, despite all out efforts, the engineers failed to understand the structure of the area and failed to prepare map.
A Pakistani contractor raised objection over foreign contractor saying: “You do not know how to map maps.”
Over this, he asked his Pakistani colleague how do you guys prepare a road map in a mountainous area?
The Pakistani contractor replied: “We make holes in the lime sacks, load them on donkey and leave the donkey to travel up or down on the mountain.”
As the donkey moves, marks of the lime spread on ground helps us to realize that this will be a better route.
And then we start building road there accordingly.
Worried over the reply, the foreigner question:
“Your civil engineers don’t build roads in the country?”
So the contractor laughed and said: “The engineers build the road where the donkey is not available.”
