ISLAMABAD: Foreign Ministry Spokesperson Mumtaz Zahra Baloch on Friday termed reports published in the Israeli media as “baseless” and claimed that Pakistan has pledged to send nuclear weapons in support of Iran.
In response to a question at her weekly press briefing, the spokeswoman dismissed an August 6 Jerusalem Post report that claimed “Pakistan plans to supply Shaheen-III medium-range ballistic missiles to Iran if the conflict between Iran and Israel escalates.”
“Such reports are patently false. Before we pay any attention to such reports, it is important to think about the source behind such baseless reports and the insidious agenda behind them,” the spokeswoman noted.
She said: “This is a critical time in the Middle East. We therefore call on all parties, including the media, not to indulge in the spread of fake news.”
