Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal expressed frustration over the city’s ongoing infrastructural problems, particularly the poor condition of streets and lack of water. Addressing a rally in Karachi’s Kemari area, he emphasized that if the right leadership is in place, Karachi would already be a model city. Ahsan Iqbal stated, “If Pakistan had been guided in the right direction, today it would be an Asian economic tiger.” He criticized the leadership of former Prime Minister Imran Khan, claiming that “some people have handed over the keys of Pakistan to an inexperienced leader”. He further added, “History will remember them as Pakistan’s worst traitors,” complaining that the dreams and future of the country’s 240 million people had been stolen. Accusing the previous leadership of pushing Pakistan back into darkness, Iqbal said, “If an unknown person is given the responsibility of driving a truck at Kemari port, he will inevitably cause an accident.” He criticized how Pakistan’s leadership handed over several generals and judges to an individual who had no administrative experience, pointing out that a union council chairman would be better suited to run the country. “The union council president knows more about governance than the PTI founder,” he concluded. “Imran Khan should muster courage and admit that he is looking for NRO” Federal Minister for Planning and Development Ahsan Iqbal slammed the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) and accused the party of engaging in actions that even India’s RAW intelligence agency would not dare to report. In a press conference in Karachi, Iqbal claimed that PTI’s international wing was providing support to India and Israel and said the party had become the “biggest asset” for anti-Pakistan forces. “If PTI believes that the cases against them are false, they should present the evidence in court,” he noted. Questioning PTI’s motives, Iqbal asked, “Who is responsible for dragging Pakistan into the dock in the United States, Europe and the United Nations? Whose policy is it?” Dismissing any possibility of the government releasing the PTI founder through an executive order, Iqbal said, “The PTI founder should gather courage and admit that he is looking for an NRO.” He further warned that political chaos and street protests are discouraging investment in the country. “How can we attract investment when the streets are torn up and chaos reigns?” Iqbal added.
