Dhudial: The English Department of Government Graduate College (Pinwal), Chakwal, organized an appreciation and farewell ceremony titled “Thank You and Farewell” in honor of Professor Suhail Imran and Professor Khurram Shehzad. The ceremony was presided over by the college principal, Professor Sakhawat Hussain Azad. This event was held to acknowledge the achievements and contributions of these esteemed professors and to bid them farewell as they transferred to other colleges after receiving promotions.
The ceremony began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Mehraaj Fatima, a student of Semester Five. Representatives of BS English Semesters Five and Three, Saadia Kulsoom and Haider Imran, paid tribute to the services of both professors and extended their best wishes for their future endeavors. Semester Five students Ayesha Siddiqa and Munazza Maqbool performed songs celebrating the nobility of the teaching profession and the greatness of educators.
In their speeches, the departing professors, Suhail Imran and Khurram Shehzad, reflected on their time at the English Department in Pinwal, praising the pivotal role of the department head, Professor Shahid Azad, in its development. They described their experience as exemplary and expressed their best wishes for the students’ future.
Former student of the English Department, Arij Zahra, appreciated the department’s culture and environment, acknowledging its significant role in her academic and intellectual growth. Program in-charge, Professor Qasim Abbas, praised the contributions of both professors, stating that their absence would be deeply felt as no one can replace them.
Head of the English Department, Professor Shahid Azad, attributed the department’s progress to its dedicated faculty. He specifically lauded the remarkable services of Professors Suhail Imran and Khurram Shehzad in enhancing the department. College Vice Principal, Professor Suhail Malik, highlighted the importance of professional transfers in academic institutions and expressed confidence that both professors would continue to excel and earn recognition at their new postings.
The ceremony concluded on an emotional note, with heartfelt tributes, expressions of gratitude, and well-wishes for the departing professors.
