ISLAMABAD: During “Cervical Cancer Awareness Month,” medical professionals urged the public to understand the value of early detection and yearly screenings. They also urged parents to vaccinate their daughters against cervical cancer if they are between the ages of 15 and 26 because the disease has a more than 92% cure rate if caught early.
Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, according to women’s health expert Dr. Irum Yasir, is a crucial time to disseminate evidence-based knowledge, encourage screening and vaccination against the human papillomavirus (HPV), and exchange information.
She said that January is Cervical Cancer Awareness Month, and Pakistan is contributing to the cause by offering top-notch oncology care services and spreading awareness through media channels.According to her, cervical cancer is a preventable disease that, with early detection, can be treated with more effective medication.
The doctor also emphasized the need of teaching the public about the risk of infectious diseases and counseled the media on raising awareness of cervical cancer.

In response to a question, she stated that cervical cancer is frequently quite treatable if it is discovered early. Treatment options may include chemotherapy, radiation therapy, and surgery.
She advised ladies to discuss their options with their healthcare physician and create a treatment plan that works for them.
She continued by saying that it is critical for women to take precautions to safeguard their health and well-being by receiving regular checkups and vaccinations.
