SWAT: Former Chief Minister KP and Vice Chairman of Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf Parliamentarian(PTIP), Mahmood Khan, asserted that the Pakistan Democratic Movement (PDM) has no agenda other than criticizing him. During a joining ceremony in Kabal, where PMLN Tehsil Kabal President Abdul Ghafoor, former Tehsil councilor Usman Ghani, and other workers from Pakistan Muslim League-N joined PTIP. Mahmood Khan highlighted his dedicated service to the region and expressed his readiness to engage in a debate challenging his achievements. He emphasized that no one within PTI could match the level of commitment he had exhibited, and despite PDM’s criticism, his tenure witnessed significant accomplishments. Mahmood Khan congratulated and welcomed the new PTIP members, addressing the event by pointing out the lack of initiative by PDM regarding the transfer of funds worth billions to Swat. He questioned the silence of Swat’s political leadership despite the funds being redirected to other districts. Mahmood Khan defended his track record, citing the approval of development projects exceeding 300 billion rupees during his four-year tenure.

Notable projects included the establishment of an agricultural university costing 9 billion 40 crore rupees and a veterinary university in Swat at a cost of 6 billion rupees. Additionally, he highlighted the swift progress on the 300-bed PADS Hospital, the upgrading of Tehsil Headquarters Hospital Kabal and the allocation of 58.50 billion rupees for the Swat Expressway Phase II project. Mahmood Khan outlined the approval of key infrastructure projects such as Zamong Core in Nengolai, Matta and Cable Grade Station, and the establishment of a rescue unit in kabal with a focus on timely relief for the people. In conclusion, Former Chief Minister Mahmood Khan emphasized the positive impact of his policies, including the distribution of health cards benefiting over 2 million poor individuals in Swat. He urged PDM to be accountable for the transfer of funds and questioned their credibility in seeking votes from the people.
