Now it is clear that after the World War II, the glob is inter into the third world war which is in its beginning phase but it disturbed the Eurasian economies especially the under developing countries like Pakistan are very much effected from the sad backs of the ongoing Russo Ukraine and Middle east wars, those are affecting the socioeconomic system of the region.
It is remember that the Russo Ukraine war was started in 24 February 2022 and in those three years it harms the wheat and food supply to Asian and European countries, The World Bank estimates that Russia’s war has caused $152 billion in direct damage to Ukraine since February 2022. The UN forecasts that $486 billion will be needed for recovery and reconstruction while some 80,000 Ukrainian soldiers have been killed since February 2022.
Every day of the war in Ukraine costs Russia $500 million to $1 billion. Russia faced a record shortage of factory workers in July 2023, with more than 43% of industrial enterprises facing a shortage, up from 35% in April. Russia has sustained more than 600,000 casualties during the war in Ukraine, a sign of losses accelerating out of proportion with its gains, Pentagon officials said.
On other hand Middle East war between Palestine and Israel was started on 7 October 2023 and as of 29 October 2024 reports over 44,000 people 43,061 Palestinian and 1,706 Israeli have been reported as killed in the Israel Hamas war, including 146 journalists and media workers and 120 besides over 224 humanitarian aid workers including 179 employees of UNRWA .
According to United Nations in the West Bank have deteriorated significantly, with 96% of businesses reporting decreased activity and 42.1% reducing their workforce. A total of 306,000 jobs have been lost, pushing West Bank’s unemployment rates from 12.9% before the conflict to 32%. These job losses have resulted in an estimated daily labor income loss of $25.5 million, severely eroding the economic resilience of Palestinian households and exacerbating social hardships. Then after the entry Iran in the war that situation is worse than ever that why the Arabs are convincing the neighbor country to counter Israel from extending the war and our next door Israeli neighbor Iran is seeking for sympathies of regional nations. Thus Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to travel to Islamabad this week. As part of Tehran’s diplomatic outreach to consult regional countries before responding to the recent Israeli strikes amid simmering tensions between the two arch-rivals in the Middle East.
Actually that war accelerated when Tel Aviv strikes against military sites in Iran were a response to attacks from Iran on October 2 that carried out direct attack against Israel firing close to 200 projectiles including ballistic missiles.
The strikes were in retaliation to the Israeli killing of Hamas political chief Ismail Haniyeh on the Iranian soil and also assassination of Hizb ullah Chief Hassan Nasrallah one of Tehran’s closest allies.
Although Pakistan condemn those Israeli attacks but in an official reaction Pakistan made it clear that Israel bore the responsibility of current tensions and urged the UN Security Council to keep a check on Israel’s recklessness and criminal behavior.
According to media the sources said that the Pakistani side would like to advise Iran to opt for diplomacy. However they admit that Iran alone cannot do anything if Israel continues with its aggressive policies. Pakistan is worried that any direct conflict between Iran and Israel will have far-reaching implications for the Middle East. We know that Pakistan shares close to 1,000 km borders with Iran and any trouble there will have impact on this side of the frontier.
Actually While Iran contemplates its options, the fact that it has decided to consult regional countries before any move shows that Tehran is unlikely to react in the near future. So it is hoped that Pakistani side will not only welcome Iran’s foreign mister but will also convince him to take calm steps in that scenario when middle east and Asia as whole is face economic issues thus direct war would be harmful for the region.
