SWAT: Thousands of people from three Union councils of Kabal Tehsil of Swat district, Kanju, Koza Bandai and Bara Bandai, protested against the establishment of the Cantonment Board on Friday.
The protesters took out a rally from Dherai Ground to Kanju Chowk and raised strong slogans while recording a protest at Kanju Chowk.
The demonstration organized by Tanzeem Sama Lar was attended by a large number of elders from various political leaders and social society members in a large number.
Addressing the demonstration, Chairman Tanzeem Sama Lar Sultan Ali Khan, Former MPA Rehmat Ali Khan, Chairman Tehsil Council Kabal Saeed Khan Dherai, Former Tehsil Nazim Tehsil Council Kabal Haji Rehmat Ali, President Swat Councilors Ittehad Rashid Ahmed Swati, President Kanju Township Society Amjad Kamal Zai, Liaqat Ali Khan, Chairman Village Council Nangolai Fatehullah Khan, Chairman VC Bara Bandai Tariq Khan, Chairman VC Koza Bandai Asim Khan, Kanju Township president Rahim Shah Khan, Abdul Wakeel Badada and others speakers said that we do not accept the Cantonment Board in any way and are not ready to give more lands.
The speakers said that we have made a lot of sacrifices in the past but we cannot afford more sacrifices, added that we have prepared a future plan of action and we are not ready to give more lands under any circumstances nor are we ready to establish a Cantonment Board.
” We are not ready to make a decision without taking the people into confidence and whatever the people will make their own decision if the government forces.
