Efforts are rapidly underway to provide basic facilities and necessities to prisoners at District Jail Timergara. A school and a handicraft center will soon be established in the jail, which will bring positive changes to the lives of inmates. Speaking to media representatives, Superintendent of District Jail Timergara, Muhammad Ayub Bacha, stated that with the onset of winter, arrangements have been made for warm water for the prisoners, and clean drinking water is being provided at a fast pace. Warm clothing has also been distributed among the prisoners.He said that education and training programs have been initiated to transform inmates into responsible citizens of society. A handicraft center will soon be opened to equip prisoners with skills. Reconstruction, renovation, cleanliness, and beautification work on the District Jail has begun. A waiting area for the families of prisoners will also be established shortly. Practical steps are being taken to introduce sports activities among inmates in the jail. Furthermore, a rehabilitation center for drug addicts will be set up.
Several prisoners at District Jail Timergara have been reconciled in their cases, leading to their release. He also emphasized that there will be no compromise on providing quality food and drink to the prisoners.
