Many people among us consider jasmine and motia (Mogra) flower to be same. But they are not same and have differences which are mentioned as under.
Though jasmine and motia flowers look similar in their appearance but they are two different types of flowers belonging to the same family. And their fragrance also seems to be similar, but there is a slight difference.
Jasmine is a common flower that comes in different varieties, such as marigolds, and its fragrance is more intense and sweet. Jasmine is usually yellow or white and blooms in the warm season.
Motia (Mogra) is a type of jasmine found especially in South Asia. Motia flowers are smaller and more pure white, and its fragrance is relatively soft and light.
