LAHORE: Senate Chairman and Executive President Yousuf Raza Gillani has confirmed that his party will support the current government in good governance and rejected demands for his removal from government.
Addressing the media in Lahore, the Pakistan People’s Party (PPP) leader said that talks with the Pakistan Muslim League Nawaz (PML-N) were going on with the government.
The President of the Senate highlighted the crisis threatening the country and said that the country is facing crises such as terrorism, extremism and threats on the eastern and western borders.
He said it was time for all stakeholders to sit together and take important decisions.
He also discussed the grievances faced by the farmers, saying that wheat farmers are suffering losses because they are getting benefits from third parties.
Yousuf Raza Gillani said that PPP stands with farmers and their rights. He also stressed that the same policy should be followed in the financial budget. He confirmed that his party will propose to the government to draft a budget for the youth center and farmers.
He also said that every bill or law will be passed by majority vote.
