Jordan: Deputy Prime Minister and Deputy Foreign Minister Mohammad Ishaq Dar called for an immediate and unconditional ceasefire in Gaza.
He made the call during a meeting with UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres in Jordan on the sidelines of a high-level conference on the situation in Gaza.
The foreign minister also called for unimpeded humanitarian aid to the people of the besieged Gaza Strip, the return of displaced Palestinians and the prosecution of Israel for war crimes and crimes against humanity.
He reiterated Pakistan’s strong and unequivocal condemnation of Israel’s illegal and merciless actions against the Palestinians.
During the meeting, the Deputy Prime Minister appreciated the initiative of the UN Secretary General to hold a joint conference with Jordan and Egypt at a time when the Palestinian people are in urgent need of international support and humanitarian assistance.
He also praised the leadership of the Secretary-General and his active role in raising international awareness of the situation in Gaza.
