In the worst economic conditions of the country, it is becoming difficult for a middle-class family to eat two meals a day. It has become impossible for such deserving citizens to even think about the marriages their girl’s so taking notice of that important issue yesterday the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a very good step for which he deserves praise.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Ali Amin Gandapur has decided to organize mass marriage of 4 thousand deserving girls of the province, which is being highly appreciated by political and social circles. It should be remembered that the above-mentioned group marriages will be done from the Social Security Fund, for which Rs. 2 million will be provided to the family of each deserving girl. It was directed to formulate a new model for the better and meaningful use of the deserving girls so that the deserving ones can stand on their own feet. The CM, directed that a committees will be formed at the level of village councils to maintain transparency.
Ali Amin Gandapur said that no political recommendations and personal likes and dislikes will work in the process of distributing funds and there will be no corruption. In case of failure the concerned authorities will be responsible.
The Chief Minister directed to provide standard electric wheelchairs to the needy special persons and to ensure representation of at least three women in each forum of zakat Committees while the tenure of zakat Committees is three years. It was also agreed to the proposal to increase it to five years. In the meeting, it was also agreed to the proposal to establish the contribution fund of philanthropists.
The Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa has taken a very good decision to help the poor in this bad condition. According to the recently released United Nations report, one billion women in Pakistan over the age of 35 are waiting for marriage. These statistics indicate the serious problems related to marriage in Pakistan. According to a United Nations report last year regarding Pakistan, 22 million young boys and girls are waiting for marriage in the country.
According to the report, due to lack of proper match parents marry their children to cousins. Apart from that most of parents now agree to have marry their girls outside their caste community rather than within their own caste community but they have hesitate to make relation to a new unknown family.
In addition, one of the biggest reasons why girls do not get married is poverty and unemployment, most parents are unable to prepare dowry for their girls. This curse is increasing day by day, for the prevention of which it is necessary that the leading personalities of the society and government institutions should conduct a full campaign against this scourge so that the marriages of girls cannot be stopped due to dowry in the society.
It is hoped that this important issue will be given full attention by the government using the social welfare department. Apart from this, it is necessary to clarify one point here that the Chief Minister has announced the said project with very good intentions, however, the announced aid of Rs. 2 million per family should be fixed at least at Rs. 5 million. Because it is very difficult to marry a girl in 2 million in this inflation. It should be remembered that in the past, this kind of injustice has been done to the beneficiaries in matters of Zakat. However, it is hoped that this time it will not happen and the chief minister Ali Amin Gandapur himself will oversee the process and will not allow injustice to anyone, which he himself promised.
