The spokesperson of Pakistan Medical and Dental Council said that the MDCAT test was conducted in a transparent manner across the country, all the provinces were instructed to pay special attention to security. He said that if they tried to use Bluetooth devices, they would have been arrested before the test. Candidates were being released in the examination center only after a thorough search.
However the echo of this scandal is still heard. According to the news published in that regard the Ministry of Health recently received complaints, on which it has been directed to end the MDCAT by conducting a strict action. It has been reported that the government has decided to introduce an online system of American SAT or Cambridge style in place of MDCAT.
According to the report the Federal Ministry of Health has instructed the Pakistan Medical and Dental Council to cancel MDCAT due to complaints of irregularities in the admission test for the Medical and Dental College. The Senate Standing Committee on Health also expressed concerns over the irregularities in MDCAT. The Prime Minister’s Coordinator Dr. Malik Mukhtar has directed to replace MDCAT with an international style IT-based system from next year. Dr. Malik Mukhtar says that the powerful mafia, since years has been trying to influence the above exam. Accualy the exam preparation academies also do billions of rupees business influence MDCAT. Senate Standing Committee on Health Chairman Aamir Chishti also directed to stop MDCAT. Dr. Mukhtar while briefing the Standing Committee of the Senate, said that according to the Intelligence Bureau there is no evidence of MDCAT paper leak this time. The decision is being welcomed by students across the country as it has become so infamous that students no longer trust it and especially parents who spend millions of rupees on their children’s education but still In tests like MDCAT, they are treated unfairly because here incompetent officials take bribes and issue papers in advance, which has been mistreating qualified students for many years, which the federal government has to stop.
