TALASH: The only water supply scheme for millions of inhabitants of Ziarat Talash, the main village of Talash Valley, the rotten and rusty pipeline passing through the dirty river channels started spreading diseases.
These views were expressed by Fazal Wahab Swati, president of Youth Reform Jirga Talash Dushakhel, while giving details to the media representatives, saying that in Ziarat, the main village of Talash Dir Lower Valley,there is just one water supply scheme for the populated village comprising of millions which is 60 years old. All the distribution pipelines including the main pipeline of this water supply scheme managed by the Department of Public Health pass through the wastewater streams from the houses have become contaminated by insects and other germs produced in the dirty river channels and are added to the drinking water. Due to which most of the residents have suffered from hepatitis, and various other stomach diseases. The people of the village demanded for the solution of this problem. Fazal Wahab Swati repeatedly contacted other responsible officers including public health. Even during the recently held open court, he raised this issue of water supply but no one has asked yet. Councilor Fazal Wahab Swati urged the Deputy Commissioner Dir Lower along with the Department of Public Health to show mercy to the residents of Ziarat Talash village. Practical measures should be taken on a war footing to relieve the residents of this disturbing situation. Otherwise, in case of compulsion, the residents of the village will come out on the streets in protest.
