KARACHI: The Pakistan Navy’s first EXERCISE SEA GUARD is being conducted from January 10–13. All parties involved had a venue to conduct tactical drills, share best practices, and promote understanding through EX SEA GUARD.
ANF, PMSA, Customs, FIA, Coast Guards, PN Coastal and Fleet Command, and other national stakeholders participated in a variety of scenarios that were based on the asymmetric issues that the maritime domain faces today. The purpose of this exercise was to demonstrate a common will to provide strong coastal security while also improving interoperability.

Aside from the practical scenarios being practiced at sea during the exercise’s conduct phase, tabletop discussions comprising SMEs from the intelligence community, LEAs, shipping, and fishing sectors were also held at JMICC. Ex SEA GUARD 24 gave all parties involved a chance to come together on one platform for reciprocal education, interoperability, and enhancing individual SOPs in order to advance their professional development. The Pakistan Navy’s conduct of Exercise SEA GUARD highlights both its proactive participation in cooperative efforts towards ensuring Maritime Security and its commitment to coastal security.
